Description. An apprenticeship contract is a voluntary document completed by the student that describes the actions that the learner promises to take in a course to achieve academic success. This contract is signed by the student, the teacher and (possibly) the parents. However, the benefits of all these contracts are that they provide academic structure and support, motivate struggling learners by publicly committing to engaging in specific and positive learning and learning behaviors, and serve as a way to get teachers and students to agree on what course objectives are important and how they can be achieved (Frank & Scharff, 2013).
